I am honored to have had an opportunity to be participant of the 2013 FOCIS Advanced Course in Basic & Clinical Immunology. I would like to express my deepest thanks to the IUIS Gender Equality and Career Development Committee and FOCIS for giving me a remarkable opportunity to attend this course. I am a PhD student and my current research considers how the parasitic worms and their products can modulate the host immune system in a way to protect the host organism from the development of diseases such as autoimmune or allergic diseases. Therefore, it was a great opportunity for me to hear about the latest advancements and discoveries in immunology as well as to expand my knowledge in this field. The lectures were very interesting and the special atmosphere of the course itself gave me the possibility to effectively communicate with other participants in the group on a personal and scientific level. I have brought back my unforgettable impressions of this course. It has been a great pleasure for me to meet prominent speakers as well as many young immunologists from different countries. Therefore, I think and do hope that this course would be very good for my future research career.
