2021 International Day of Immunology

Thursday 29th April 2021

‣ IUIS-EFIS Webinar: Immunology in the time of COVID-19: achievements, challenges and opportunities

The International Day of Immunology is dedicated to increasing global awareness of the importance of immunology in the fight against infection, autoimmunity, and cancer. All international societies are invited to join IUIS in the global effort to promote the benefits of immunology research.

If you missed – or want to watch again – the EFIS/IUIS webinar “Immunology in the time of COVID-19: achievements and opportunities” broadcast live via Zoom and Twitch on April 29 to celebrate the Day of Immunology 2021, the recorded event, which attracted more than 3,000 attendees from 105 countries, is available here for viewing on demand.

Immunology has never had such a high public profile as right now in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic, yet the international immunology community’s impact in fighting diseases and improving global health is sometimes not understood. The hashtags for the 2021 Day of Immunology reflect this: #ThankYouImmunology   #DayofImmunology.

Watch the Webinar here on demand.

‣ Thank You Immunology Video Campaign

The International Day of Immunology (DoI) is celebrated every April 29 as a way of bringing immunology out of the labs and into the hearts and minds of the general public. For the 2021 #DayofImmunology, the International Union of Immunological Societies (IUIS), the European Federation of Immunological Societies (EFIS), the young EFIS network, and Immunopaedia have collaborated to produce the #ThankYouImmunology video campaign. Early career scientists were asked a few questions with the aim of celebrating the monumental achievements of immunologists the world over during an incredibly difficult year. Thanks to everyone who participated and helped to make such a great project. We hope that you enjoy watching and #ThankYouImmunology!
