Organized by IUIS VIC and hosted by AAVI
The 12th IVIS will be held 13-16th August, 2019 in Seattle, Washington, USA and is partially sponsored by the International Union of Immunological Societies (IUIS) Veterinary Immunology Committee and organized by American Association of Veterinary Immunologists (AAVI).
The IVIS conference is unique because it is designed to bring Industry, Government, and Academic specialists together and provide attendees with an update and overview of new information in basic and applied veterinary immunology, including topics on protective immunity, vaccine strategies, important disease targets, and veterinary reagent development.
The IVIS highlights that veterinary immunology is not an endeavor which merely confirms the knowledge generated in human or mouse models, but each animal species has its own intricacies and nuances that warrant study. Foreign animal disease, and methods to diagnose and control specific diseases, is of particular interest in the current global agriculture economy. In addition, methods to enhance the well-being of people in developing countries includes maintaining healthy livestock species for sustenance and economic independence. Overall, immunology research provides a crucial knowledge base for generating new therapies, disease management, and vaccination approaches.
