Recent activities

Board Meetings: IIS national executive meeting was held on September, 2016 at the IIS head office in Delhi and then on Feb 16, 2017, at the Gitam University, Visakhapatnam. The different work plans of IIS especially the educational activities, day of Immunology (DOI) celebrations, forthcoming annual meetings strategies for popularizing Immunology among youngsters and allocation of funds and bursaries for motivating participation at the national and international conferences had been discussed. Policies will be streamlined at the forthcoming national executive meeting.

Presently, IIS offers about $1000 as the seed money for the annual national conference. In addition, it provides about $ 2000 per annum for celebrating DOI, and about the similar amount for organizing 4-5 CMEs on basic and translational immunology. These token grants are given to motivate different Institutions to come forward with the proposals to expand Immunology education in the region.

IIS welcomes any other Immunology education program at the national or international level but the organizers need to raise funds from their own resources.

IIS received Euro 2000 from IUIS for the best international DOI campaign. This money will be added to the IIS campaigns for popularizing Immunology in the region.

IIS executive meetings with the board members from the head office region were held time to time to discuss the emerging issues while communicating with the other board members from different corners of India through emails.

43rd annual conference of the Indian Immunology Society, Feb 2017, was held at the Gitam University, Visakhapatnam. Earlier, the venue was Srinagar, Kashmir, which got shifted.

There had been Bursaries, and presentation awards for students.
