New working groups within IUIS VIC Toolkit Subcommittee

May 13, 2020ASI announces their new ASI Global Outreach Award, Veterinary Immunology Committee (VIC)

Livestock discussion groups

IUIS VIC Toolkit decided to set up four major groups to represent key livestock species covered by Toolbox activities following a consultation at the 2017 BBSRC UK Veterinary Vaccinology Network (VVN) Toolbox Workshop.

The leaders of these species’ groups can be contacted by members of the community who are seeking information or looking to engage in reagent development for each of those areas.

Our aim is to have online discussion boards, group calls and face to face meetings at the major veterinary immunology conferences.

Species group leads:

Ruminants – Jayne Hope, The Roslin Institute, Edinburgh, UK.

Swine – Joan Lunney, ARS, USDA, Beltsville, USA.

Poultry – Bernd Kaspers, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Munich, Germany.

Aqua-species – Carolina Tafalla, CISA-INIA, Valdeolmos, Spain.

Please make initial contact via jayne.hope@roslin.ed.ac.uk I (0044)-131-6519211.
